According to the 2011 census there were 58,000 private sector renting households in Manchester at that time. Considering that is up from 25,000 households in 2001, it's probably even higher now.
Generation Rent is hosting a meetup for anyone who wants to help us set up a local group to help renters get a better deal. That's in terms of affordability, security of tenure, conditions and professionalism of management. The local group will set its own agenda but we'll support it with our central team. Our main website is here.
The meetup is at theĀ Friends Meeting House, 6 Mount Street, Manchester, M2 5NS, from 3-5pm on Saturday 20th September. Please do RSVP as we'd like to get a good idea of numbers for refreshments etc. If you can't make the event but would like to get involved, please sign up here.
